Apple has officially launched the AirPods 5, featuring active noise cancellation and a new acoustic architecture. The base model is priced at ¥999, while the version with a wireless charging case, which includes volume control via the stem and extended battery life, costs ¥1,149.
The new earbuds offer up to 5 hours of playback with active noise cancellation enabled, a 1-hour increase over the previous generation. With the charging case, total playback time reaches 22 hours. The device supports charging via Apple Watch chargers, Qi-compatible pads, and USB-C cables.
JD.com is currently offering regional government subsidies for the product in Jiangsu, Jilin, Beijing, Dalian, Hebei, and Yunnan, bringing the price down to ¥849.15. Additionally, a trade-in program provides extra subsidies of ¥100 to 150 for headphones valued over ¥100.
The AirPods 5 incorporate sustainable design elements, with 40% recycled materials used overall. This includes 70% recycled plastic in the wireless charging case and 100% recycled cobalt in the battery. The production process utilizes 35% renewable energy, and the packaging consists of 100% fiber-based materials.
