Apple is expanding its hardware portfolio by developing dedicated gaming controllers for mobile devices. According to the latest Bloomberg Power On newsletter, the company is working on two distinct models currently identified by the codenames T6502 and T1057.

The new accessories were discovered in the release candidate for macOS 26.7. These controllers are designed to feature standard gaming inputs, including thumbsticks, triggers, shoulder buttons, and home buttons, to enhance the mobile gaming experience on iPhone hardware.

The devices will be released under the Beats by Dre brand rather than the primary Apple label. This strategy allows the company to market products that fall outside the traditional Apple ecosystem while leveraging the existing Beats brand identity.

Technical specifications vary between the two models. The T1057 controller includes integrated accelerometer and gyroscope support, whereas the T6502 model lacks these specific motion-sensing capabilities.
