Apple is preparing for a September 9 event where it is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, dubbed the iPhone Ultra. The device is rumored to be priced above $2,000, making it significantly more expensive than standard models but less than the Apple Vision Pro headset, which costs $3,500.
The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch main screen when unfolded. To maintain a sleek design, Apple reportedly omitted the telephoto camera, opting instead for a dual-lens rear camera system consisting of a main and an ultra-wide lens.
Authentication will shift from Face ID to a Touch ID fingerprint button on the side of the device. The phone will support side-by-side multitasking on iOS, powered by a chip that is also used in the budget MacBook Neo laptop.
Beyond the foldable, Apple is expected to refresh the HomePod smart speaker line to coincide with the Gemini-powered Siri AI update. Additionally, macOS preview builds have revealed AirPods with built-in low-resolution cameras designed to act as eyes for the Siri assistant rather than for photography.
