Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new smart home hub, with recent trademark filings providing clues about its branding. Reports suggest the company has filed for the HomeView trademark in the United States and other international markets through a shell company identified as Home Services LLC.
In addition to the HomeView filing, another shell company, Home Operations Suite LLC, has registered the homeOS trademark. These filings are linked to Apple, fueling speculation that the upcoming device will utilize this specific operating system.
The new smart home hub is expected to be unveiled at an event titled Welcome home, scheduled for October 13. The device is rumored to combine features from both the HomePod and the iPad, leading to earlier speculation that it might be branded as HomePad.
Technical details regarding the hardware suggest the device will feature a 6-inch screen and 8GB of RAM. Whether the final product will carry the HomeView name or run on the homeOS platform remains to be confirmed at the upcoming presentation.
