Apple is preparing a series of product launches for October, including a new smart home hub, HomePod mini, Apple TV, iPad mini 8, and a touchscreen MacBook. The company is also collaborating with LG to develop smart home accessories, such as video doorbells, smart locks, and cameras, which will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and Matter protocols.

The upcoming smart home hub, internally referred to as HomePad, is expected to feature a 6-inch touchscreen. It is designed to handle music playback, FaceTime calls, and smart home control, with advanced features like multi-user recognition. Apple plans to announce its own home devices on October 13, while the LG-branded accessories are expected to arrive later.

New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are anticipated for release in October or November, potentially featuring OLED displays, thinner designs, and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. The iPad mini 8 is also expected in October, likely featuring an OLED screen, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6 support, with a potential price increase over the current $599 starting price.

CEO John Ternus is actively restructuring Apple's internal management, focusing on reducing layers between engineers and leadership. He is personally involved in the design and hardware development processes, visiting design studios frequently. These organizational changes aim to move away from the reliance on seasonal product launches toward a more continuous release cycle.
