Apple is preparing to launch a new generation of MacBook Pro laptops, with an expected release window between late October and November 2026. The upcoming models are designed to hit the market in time for the holiday shopping season.
The new devices will feature two-layer OLED displays with increased brightness and longevity, alongside touch interface support. The laptops will be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, as Apple reportedly skipped the M6 series to focus on M7 development.
A significant design update includes a reduction in the device's overall weight and thickness. While specific figures were not provided, the company aims for a substantial decrease compared to current models, such as the 16-inch version which weighs approximately 2.2 kg.
The hardware will replace the traditional webcam notch with a Dynamic Island interface. Software support for these features will be integrated into macOS 27 Golden Gate, with additional functionality expected in the macOS 27.2 update.
