Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the launch of the iPhone Duo. CEO John Ternus and Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak stated that the company waited until they could develop a product that fully met their internal standards for durability, design, and quality.
Ternus emphasized that the development process required a complete rethinking of hardware, software, and industrial design to ensure seamless integration. According to the leadership, the final result represents a unique synergy between the device's physical components and its operating system.
The company leadership also addressed the current state of the foldable market. Ternus criticized existing competitor devices, noting that many foldable displays currently on the market feature visible creases and use plastic surfaces that do not meet Apple's tactile and quality expectations.
