Apple has announced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, which is priced at $300. The company has discontinued the previous 64GB Wi-Fi-only model, leaving the 128GB Wi-Fi and Ethernet version as the sole offering.
The new device features increased processing power, a dedicated AV1 decoder for higher-quality streaming, and built-in far-field microphones for Siri. It also includes Find My support for the remote control.
The updated Apple TV 4K allows users to create a surround sound system by pairing HomePod 2 and HomePod Mini 2 smart speakers. The system supports connecting up to four HomePods in total.
Despite the updates, the device lacks several requested features, including audio passthrough, HDMI input for passthrough, digital optical output, and support for 120fps output.
