Apple has unveiled the AirPods 5, introducing active noise cancellation (ANC) to its most affordable wireless earbuds. The new generation features a multi-port acoustic architecture and updated sound processing algorithms, which together reduce external noise by up to 50% more than the AirPods 4 with ANC.
The lineup consists of two versions. The base model starts at $129. A higher-end version, priced at $149, includes a wireless charging case, touch-based volume control via force sensors on the stems, and extended battery life.
Both models support Adaptive Audio, which dynamically adjusts transparency and ANC modes based on the environment, and Conversation Awareness. Additionally, when paired with a compatible iPhone running Apple Intelligence, the earbuds support real-time translation.
The premium model offers up to five hours of listening time with ANC enabled, extending to 22 hours including charging from the case. The case supports charging via USB-C, Apple Watch chargers, and the Qi standard.
