Apple is undergoing a significant leadership transition within its display technology division. Two long-term executives, Wei Chen and John Zhong, who have been with the company for approximately 30 years, are stepping down from their management roles to become advisors. Victor Yin has been appointed to oversee the majority of the company's display technology development.

The company has also promoted several engineering leaders to vice president positions, including Rajesh Ambati, Louie Sanguinetti, and Derek Shaeffer. Their responsibilities span hardware and software connectivity. These changes follow the expansion of Johny Srouji’s role as Chief Hardware Officer, aimed at unifying hardware engineering and technology teams.

As part of a broader effort to streamline management, Apple has reduced the number of hardware project manager roles. This initiative, led by Srouji and CEO John Ternus, seeks to minimize middle management layers between engineers and senior leadership to accelerate product development cycles.

Additional organizational shifts include the promotion of Carson Oliver to vice president of the App Store and the appointment of Steve Smith to lead corporate development. These moves are part of a wider restructuring strategy across multiple core business units to enhance operational efficiency and speed up product launches.
