Apple senior vice president of marketing Greg Joswiak recently discussed the development of the iPhone Duo, the company's foldable smartphone project. He expressed regret that the screen aspect ratio of 1:1.4 was leaked to the public ahead of schedule, noting that several competitors subsequently adopted similar dimensions for their own devices.

Despite the leak of hardware specifications, Apple successfully kept its proprietary foldable nano-texture display technology confidential. According to the company, while external dimensions are susceptible to leaks through supply chain channels, the underlying manufacturing processes and specialized screen treatments represent the core competitive advantage of the product.

The nano-texture technology is designed to address common industry challenges, such as screen creasing and tactile issues on foldable devices. Apple considers this development a result of long-term research and a key differentiator for the iPhone Duo compared to existing foldable smartphones currently available on the market.

To mitigate further security risks, Apple implemented strict internal protocols, including the use of an unrelated internal codename for the project. The company maintains that these measures allow them to preserve significant product highlights for the official launch, even when certain design details are exposed prematurely.
