Apple has implemented new compatibility requirements in the watchOS 27 update, released on September 15. The system now mandates that all third-party applications must support 64-bit architecture to function on the device.
The company previously notified developers of this transition on July 22, 2025. Starting from April 2026, all new applications submitted to App Store Connect were required to include 64-bit support to ensure improved performance.
Users who find that certain third-party apps have disappeared after updating to watchOS 27 can check for updates via the App Store on their iPhone or directly on the Apple Watch. Applications are not permanently removed and will reappear once developers provide the necessary 64-bit updates.
