Apple's C2 5G modem utilizes AI to enhance cellular network quality and reliability. Compared to the C1X chip, the C2 offers a 50% increase in upload speeds and a 15% reduction in power consumption.
The US version of the devices supports mmWave 5G on the n258, n260, and n261 bands, as well as sub-6GHz 5G with 4x4 MIMO. In China, the C2 modem is listed as supporting 5G (sub-6 GHz) with 4x4 MIMO technology.
The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo are also equipped with the Apple-designed N1 wireless network chip. This chip provides support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread for local networks, short-range wireless connections, and smart home integration.
