Apple introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone. The device features a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch flexible inner screen. It uses a magnetic hinge suspension system and reinforced flexible glass to reduce screen creases. The iPhone Duo is the first iPhone to natively support Apple Pencil input.
The foldable model is powered by the A20 Pro chip and Apple's proprietary C2 baseband. It features a 48-megapixel dual-camera system and supports multitasking with split-screen and dual-app parallel mechanisms. Prices start at $2,000 for the 256GB version, reaching nearly $3,000 for the top configuration. It will be available in white and deep blue starting in October.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature the A20 Pro chip built on TSMC's 2nm process. These models include a narrower Dynamic Island supporting up to three simultaneous live activities and a periscope telephoto lens. The larger model introduces a mechanical variable aperture. Starting prices for the 256GB versions are $1,099 and $1,199, respectively.
Apple updated its wearables with AirPods 5 and new Apple Watches. The high-end AirPods 5 offer 5 hours of continuous battery life in noise-canceling mode and real-time simultaneous translation. Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 feature ceramic cases, improved battery life, and a 'Readiness' health assessment. They are priced at $399 and $799, launching September 18.
The hardware updates are supported by iOS 27, scheduled for global release on September 14. The system integrates Siri's multimodal context understanding, cross-app workflows, and specific split-screen capabilities for the iPhone Duo.
