Apple has introduced the A20 Pro smartphone chip, which is manufactured using a 2nm process. According to leaked Geekbench 6 benchmark data, the processor demonstrates a performance increase of approximately 25 percent compared to its predecessor, the A19 Pro. The chip features a new architecture with updated super-cores and efficiency cores, reaching clock speeds of nearly 5 GHz.
While Apple officially describes the A20 Pro as the fastest smartphone CPU and claims a 20 percent performance boost over the previous generation, third-party indicators suggest higher gains. The processor is expected to be featured in upcoming iPhone models and potentially in future Neo laptop or desktop devices.
Pre-orders for the new iPhone models equipped with the A20 silicon are scheduled to open shortly. The retail release is set for Friday, September 18. Independent reviews and a broader range of performance benchmarks are expected to be published in the week leading up to the market launch.
