Apollo Global Management is reducing operations at its invoice finance subsidiary, Eliant. The company is winding down services related to mid-market accounts receivable and supply-chain finance, which previously allowed businesses to purchase invoices and cover supplier payments without locking up capital.
These discontinued initiatives represent less than 10% of Eliant’s total assets. The firm will continue to focus on its primary business of inventory finance, which involves lending directly against a company’s stock of goods.
Eliant was established in 2022 through a partnership between Apollo, its insurance subsidiary Athene, and BNP Paribas. The venture was designed to provide flexible trade finance solutions to companies looking to optimize supply chains and balance sheets.
The shift follows a challenging period for the inventory financing market, which has faced increased scrutiny after several high-profile corporate collapses. Industry analysts note that while demand for trade finance remains, securing these transactions has become more complex.
