Anthropic has introduced three new access tiers to its Cyber Verification Program (CVP) as of October 6, 2026. The expansion allows verified security organizations to utilize advanced Claude models for both defensive and offensive cybersecurity operations.
The new tiers include Defense Access for incident response and malware analysis, Red Team Access for authorized penetration testing, and Specialized Access for critical systems testing. Specialized Access requires a review by the US government.
The company is relaxing certain high-risk dual-use classifiers for verified users. Applicants must demonstrate security controls, with processing times ranging from a few days for basic tiers to several weeks for Red Team Access.
Evaluation via CyScenarioBench showed that Red Team Access successfully completed 34 out of 50 tasks. Existing program participants, such as Forescout and Ridge Security, will be transitioned into the new structure automatically.
