Ant Group has launched a closed beta test for the latest version of its AI product, Lingguang. The company is positioning this update as a direct competitor to Meta's Muse, an AI agent introduced in September that assists users with daily tasks and long-term project management.

Development of the new Lingguang iteration began approximately six months ago. The product has undergone several internal revisions and is scheduled for a full public release later this month. The shift marks a transition from a standard chatbot to an AI-native personal agent capable of proactive task management.

The updated system features long-term memory and the ability to execute complex actions through Skill and MCP integrations. Users can leverage these capabilities to perform tasks such as sending messages via DingTalk or controlling smart home devices directly through the AI interface.

Current beta testing focuses on complex, multi-variable scenarios that require persistent monitoring. Use cases include tracking market fluctuations for professionals, managing school attendance records for parents, and automatically re-routing travel plans in the event of flight delays or site closures.
