Android Central, a blog dedicated to the Android ecosystem, has laid off its entire full-time staff. Managing editor Derrek Lee and staffer Nicholas Sutrich confirmed that all remaining employees were dismissed, following public announcements from four of the six team members listed on the site.

Despite the layoffs, the site remains operational. Future, the parent company of Android Central, confirmed to The Verge that publication will continue. Spokesperson Nicole Martineau stated that the company will provide more information regarding the site's future in due course.

New content is currently appearing on the platform, although these articles are produced by freelance contributors rather than the former full-time editorial team. Future has declined to provide further comments on the situation at this time.

In a separate development, Android Police has also reduced its workforce, laying off at least two staff members. The site, which is owned by Valnet, currently lists an editorial team of four people. Valnet did not respond to requests for comment regarding the changes.
