Google reports that Android applications may experience compatibility issues on laptops equipped with Intel processors compared to those using Qualcomm chips. This discrepancy arises because many Android apps are natively designed for ARM architecture.
Models featuring Intel processors include the Asus Googlebook 14, Lenovo Googlebook 15, and Acer Googlebook 14. Conversely, the Dell XPS Googlebook and HP Googlebook 14 utilize Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips.
While apps built with Java or Kotlin generally function on Intel-based systems due to architecture-agnostic libraries, those relying on native components compiled exclusively for ARM64 may encounter performance hurdles. Systems use Intel Bridge and Android Native Bridge to translate code, but success depends on developer support for x86.
All applications are sourced from the Google Play Store. The new laptops are priced between $899 and $1 299. Available configurations include 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Each device includes a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which provides 5TB of cloud storage.
