Between August 29 and September 4, four dormant Bitcoin wallets moved a total of 202.84 BTC, valued at approximately $15.73 million. The largest transfer involved 146.06 BTC, which had remained inactive since November 2013.
A 40 BTC wallet, dormant since November 2011, was also activated. Its value reached $3.09 million, representing a gain of over 2,571,899% from an initial investment of roughly $120. Two smaller wallets containing 10 BTC and 6.78 BTC were also moved.
Data from Galaxy Research indicates that the 6.78 BTC transfer was sent to Coinbase, suggesting an intent to sell. This activity follows a summer trend where six other wallets moved approximately $40 million in assets during a 10-day period in August.
Some of the reactivated wallets are associated with the Noah Doe lawsuit, which concerns the legal status of abandoned property. These addresses have shown regular activity since a judge paused the proceedings in June.
