Anchorage Digital has acquired Routable, a platform founded in 2017 that specializes in automating compliance and managing high-volume global payouts. The acquisition aims to bridge the gap between digital assets and traditional fiat infrastructure for large-scale enterprises.
The integration allows Anchorage to provide a seamless service for companies that require both fiat and digital asset capabilities. Routable’s technology enables payouts across 220 countries, supporting the needs of major technology platforms and Fortune 500 companies.
Anchorage Digital currently acts as a regulated issuer for stablecoins, including those from Tether, Ethena, and Western Union. Additionally, the company serves as the custody provider for BlackRock’s BUIDL fund.
CEO Nathan McCauley stated that the company is positioning itself as an enabling infrastructure bank for the industry. He believes that operational complexity, rather than regulatory access, is the primary barrier for traditional banks entering the crypto space.
