The TW series of electric rail road excavators, developed by AMT and Royal BAM, includes models in 150, 160, and 180 sizes, corresponding to 18-24 metric tonne classes. These machines utilize a 600V electrical system and a water-cooled, permanent-magnet electric motor with a power output of 121 kW.

The equipment is powered by four 90 kWh battery packs, providing a total capacity of 360 kWh and enabling 8-16 hours of continuous operation. The system supports hot-swapping, allowing the excavator to remain operational while batteries are replaced by another machine.

These modular 90 kWh battery packs are interchangeable across various AMT machines to optimize energy usage and reduce capital investment. The excavator also features an onboard charger capable of up to 120 kW, which can charge the battery pack from 20% to 80% in under two hours.
