AMD has unveiled the pricing and specifications for its sixth-generation EPYC 9006 server processor series, codenamed Venice. The lineup consists of 31 models ranging from 8 to 256 cores, with prices starting at $700 and reaching $14,904 for the flagship EPYC 9996.

The series is divided into two platforms: SP7 and SP8. The SP7 platform targets high-end data centers, supporting 16-channel DDR5 memory and 96 PCIe 6.0 lanes. The flagship 256-core EPYC 9996 processor features a 1024 MB L3 cache and a 600W default TDP.

The SP8 platform is designed for enterprise computing and virtualization, offering 8-channel DDR5 memory and 128 PCIe 6.0 lanes. This line includes specialized single-socket 'P' models that offer cost savings compared to standard versions, such as the EPYC 9736P.

AMD plans to launch the SP7 platform in the fourth quarter of this year, while the SP8 series is scheduled for release in the first half of 2027. Additionally, the company intends to introduce the Venice-X series featuring 3D V-Cache technology in 2027 to support high-performance computing.
