The newly released AMD Ryzen 5 5500F processor features six cores based on the Zen 3 architecture and 16 MB of L3 cache. While it shares these core specifications with the existing Ryzen 5 5500, the new model operates at a frequency that is 200 MHz higher. The processor is currently priced at $100.
Performance testing conducted with a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card revealed varying results. In titles like RDR2, Crimson Desert, and Forza Horizon 6, the performance difference between the two CPUs was negligible. However, in other games, the Ryzen 5 5500F demonstrated a notable lead over its predecessor.
Specifically, the Ryzen 5 5500F showed a performance increase of approximately 7% in CS2, GTA V Enhanced, and Cyberpunk 2077. In Battlefield 6, the gap widened to 15%. These results exceed what would typically be expected from a 200 MHz frequency difference, as noted in initial comparative benchmarks.
