AMD has unveiled its EPYC 9006 series processors based on the Zen 6 architecture. The lineup targets servers, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance computing, offering configurations ranging from 8 to 256 cores. Pricing for these units starts at $700 and reaches $14 904.

The flagship EPYC 9996 features 256 cores and 512 threads, operating at frequencies between 2.55 and 4.1 GHz. It includes 1 GB of L3 cache and a 600 W TDP. At a price of $14 904, the cost per core is approximately $58, which is lower than that of several entry-level models in the series.

The Venice generation is divided into two platforms. The SP7 platform supports up to 16 DDR5 memory channels and 96 PCIe 6.0 lanes, with processors ranging from 64 to 256 cores. The SP8 platform offers eight memory channels and 128 PCIe 6.0 lanes, with models spanning from 8 to 128 cores and TDPs between 130 and 400 W.

Specialized F-series processors prioritize higher clock speeds, reaching up to 5 GHz. For instance, the 64-core EPYC 9586F is priced at $9 701 with a 500 W TDP. AMD notes that these prices apply to bulk orders of 1 000 units or more, meaning retail prices from equipment suppliers may differ.
