AMD has released benchmark results for its Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor, part of the new Gorgon Halo lineup. The company compares the chip's generative AI performance using ComfyUI against Intel's Core Ultra X9 388H. Testing utilized a 192GB memory configuration for the AMD chip versus 64GB for the Intel counterpart.

The performance advantage reported by AMD ranges from 1.1x to 32.2x depending on the model. For the GLM 5.3 Flash model with 320 billion parameters, the processor reached a peak throughput of 20 tokens per second. With the Qwen 3.8 Flash Next model, the chip achieved up to 42 tokens per second using dynamic 4-bit quantization.

Gorgon Halo serves as a refresh of the previous Strix Halo series, maintaining identical core counts and microarchitectures. Key hardware updates include a boost clock increase of 100 MHz and support for up to 192GB of unified memory, compared to the 128GB limit on competing RTX Spark devices.

AMD stated that it has shipped over half a million agentic PCs to date. While the company positions these chips against the upcoming RTX Spark and Apple M-series processors, early market availability is limited. The Minisforum MS-S1 Max-P495 is currently on sale with top-line configurations priced around $7,000.
