AMD has reportedly increased the cost of GDDR6 memory modules supplied to its board partners. This pricing adjustment has been in effect since October 1, according to reports from the Board Channels forum.
The company provides its GPUs to add-in board partners as a bundle that includes memory. Consequently, an increase in the cost of these kits typically leads to higher retail prices for the final graphics cards.
Recent market data from China aligns with this change, showing price hikes for specific models. The Radeon RX 9070 saw an increase equivalent to $104, while the RX 9060 XT 8 GB rose by $45.
AMD partners have faced several cost adjustments throughout 2026. Reports indicate a 10 percent hike on GPU kits in July, followed by another 10 percent increase in September affecting GPUs, chipsets, and CPUs.
In contrast, NVIDIA has not issued similar notices regarding GDDR7 pricing for its partners. While NVIDIA previously raised memory kit prices in July, current reports suggest no further changes are expected this year.
