Amazon is preparing to refresh its entry-level Kindle model ahead of the upcoming holiday shopping season. Leaked images published by WinFuture indicate that the new device will feature a redesigned chassis and a broader selection of colors, including light blue, green, and mauve, alongside the standard black option.

A notable design change involves the relocation of the power button. It has been moved from the bottom of the e-reader to the top right edge, a modification intended to prevent accidental sleep activation. Additionally, the images suggest the device will feature more rounded corners for the screen area.

Speculation from WinFuture suggests that Amazon might release multiple versions of the entry-level Kindle with varying display features, as some images appear to show a recessed E Ink panel. Technical specifications, including storage capacity, battery life, and screen type, remain undisclosed.

The previous base model launched in 2024 at $109.99. However, Amazon increased the price of this device to $149.99 last month, citing rising costs for memory and storage components.
