Amazon has redesigned its Kindle lineup, replacing traditional raised bezels with a flush, flat-front screen design. To prevent accidental touches while holding the device, the company introduced a capacitive touch system that automatically identifies thumb placement and adjusts the active touch area accordingly.
The new 6-inch Kindle weighs 140 grams and is 6.8 mm thick, featuring a 30% faster page refresh rate than the previous generation. It is available in colors including Ube, Graphite, Alpine Sky, Seaglass Green, and Fig, with prices starting at $149.99.
The updated Kindle Paperwhite features a thinner, lighter body and improved display contrast. The standard 16GB model is priced at $199.99, while the 32GB Signature Edition costs $249.99.
The Kindle Colorsoft, which features a color E-Ink screen, also adopts the new flush-bezel design. The 16GB version is priced at $289.99, and the 32GB Signature Edition is available for $319.99.
The new devices are currently available or open for pre-order across multiple international markets, including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and several European countries. Amazon has also updated its children's editions of these readers.
