Amazon has introduced the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, a new Android device priced at $499.99. Unlike the company's Fire lineup, this tablet features full access to the Google Play store. It is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 8-core processor and offers either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The device features an aluminum unibody design and weighs 550 grams.
The tablet's 12.3-inch 3:2 display is available with an optional Corning Nanomatte coating, which reduces glare and costs at least $549.99. The screen supports three Kindle-specific modes, including a grayscale Ink option. Using the Kindle mode extends the battery life from 16 hours to 20 hours.
The device integrates Alexa throughout the interface, including an Ask Alexa bar and a Dynamic Tab for proactive suggestions. Advanced features like On-Screen Intelligence are opt-in, allowing the assistant to analyze screen content for shopping or scheduling tasks. Privacy controls are available to manage what the assistant hears and remembers.
Amazon also offers a Pro Keyboard for $149.99 and a Pro Pen for $89.99. Additionally, the company announced the Alexa Tablet 11 starting at $329.99 and the Alexa Tablet 8 starting at $229.99. These smaller models are available in rosette and matcha colors, while the 12 Pro comes in graphite.
