Amazon has introduced the Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote control priced at $34.99. The device allows users to turn pages and adjust screen brightness on their e-readers without touching the screen. It is compatible with all new Kindle models, including those released in 2024 and later.
The remote is designed for scenarios where reaching the screen is inconvenient, such as reading in bed or while exercising. Unlike third-party alternatives that often use physical clips, the Kindle Click connects directly via Bluetooth, avoiding any physical contact with the display.
The company also launched the Page-Turn Cover, priced at $79.99, which features built-in physical buttons for page turning. This accessory is compatible with the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, connecting via magnetic contacts.
Additionally, Amazon introduced a new Charging Dock for specific Signature Edition models. These releases accompany a broader update to the Kindle lineup, which includes faster page-turn speeds, reduced device weight, and thinner designs for the latest hardware iterations.
Amazon's strategy shifts toward a broader ecosystem of accessories, including remotes, specialized covers, and docks. While the Kindle Click is priced higher than competitors like the $29.99 Kobo Remote or BOOX Tappy, Amazon emphasizes official integration and compatibility.
