Amazon has discounted its previous-generation Kindle Paperwhite models as part of a new promotion. The Signature Edition is now available for $169.99, down from its original price of $249.99. This specific model features 32GB of storage, wireless charging capabilities, an ambient light sensor, and comes without lockscreen advertisements.
The standard version of the Kindle Paperwhite is also on sale for $149.99, reduced from $199.99. Compared to the Signature Edition, the base model offers half the storage capacity, lacks wireless charging, and includes lockscreen ads. Both devices share core features like a 300ppi screen, IPX8 waterproofing, and an auto-adjusting front light.
The current 2024 Kindle Paperwhite models offer a few hardware differences compared to the previous generation. The newer devices feature an aluminum design that is one millimeter thinner and can open books 30 percent faster. However, the latest version carries a price premium of $50 over the previous iteration.
