A customer in the Netherlands reported a fraudulent purchase on Amazon Netherlands involving a Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Master. The buyer paid nearly €3000 for the flagship graphics card, which was intended for use with a 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor.

Upon opening the package, the customer found two bags of rice, a pack of pasta, and an obsolete graphics card instead of the ordered hardware. The shipment originated from an Amazon warehouse in Spain and experienced a delivery delay of approximately one week.

The buyer noted that the protective seal on the box had been tampered with and reapplied. The weight of the substitute items was carefully selected to match the expected mass of the original product, which exceeds 2 kg due to its large cooling system.

The incident is linked to the Fulfilled by Amazon program, where returned items are inspected and restocked for subsequent sale. It is suspected that the perpetrators exploited this process to swap the contents while bypassing automated weight verification systems.
