Alpitronic has expanded its HYC1000 megawatt charging system with a new compact Depot Dispenser designed for bus and truck fleets. The device provides up to 400 kW of charging power and features a CCS connector, operating at voltages between 150 V and 1,000 V with a peak current of 400 A.
The new unit measures 600 by 400 by 250 mm and weighs up to 35 kg without the cable. It offers flexible installation options, including wall, pedestal, or ceiling mounting. Users can select cable lengths of 2.0, 5.5, or 7.5 m to accommodate different depot layouts.
The dispenser lacks a touchscreen, using an LED indicator for status updates. Authentication is handled via RFID, with optional support for credit and debit cards or QR codes. The hardware is rated IP55 for indoor and outdoor use in temperatures from -30 to +55 degrees Celsius.
The HYC1000 system uses a separate Power Cabinet containing eight 125 kW Power Stacks, providing a total capacity of up to one megawatt. The system efficiency is now rated at 98.2 percent. The Power Cabinet distributes power to connected dispensers based on demand.
The device will debut at the IAA Transportation event. It is initially launching in the European market, with plans to expand to other regions later. Alpitronic has not yet released pricing information for the new hardware.
