Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Perla Nera, a unique version of its 33 Stradale supercar, featuring an exposed matte carbon fiber body. This vehicle is the only one in the 33-unit production run to be finished without paint, a result of a specific customer request that required approximately three years of development.
The removal of paint reduces the vehicle's weight by about 22 pounds. To achieve the aesthetic, technicians manually positioned each carbon fiber strand to follow the car's contours, creating a deliberate V-shaped pattern on the bonnet and a herringbone design along the roofline. Most exterior badges were removed to emphasize the carbon weave.
The Perla Nera is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 620 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. It features an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, with performance figures including a 0-62 mph time of under three seconds and a top speed of approximately 207 mph.
The interior is finished in Alcantara with custom-shaped seats and a redesigned headrest featuring a Perla Nera carbon insert. This project marks the first commission from Bottega Alfa Romeo, the company's internal division for bespoke one-off builds. The car will be on display at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese until October 18.
