AITO, a luxury SUV brand produced by Seres, announced plans to enter the European market in the fall of 2027. The company showcased its AITO 6, 7, 8, and 9 models at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The lineup includes both battery-electric and range-extended electric vehicle variants.

The brand is currently pursuing EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval and aims for a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Localization efforts include adapting chassis and powertrains for European roads, implementing multilingual voice controls, and establishing a service network. The company has named Bosch, CATL, Valeo, and Pirelli as its suppliers.

Seres recently restructured its partnership with Huawei, taking over product definition, design, and retail operations. In 2025, AITO sold 426,000 vehicles, with the AITO 8 model accounting for over 150,000 units. However, the company reported a net loss of ¥1.72 billion in the first half of 2026.

Market entry faces significant regulatory hurdles, including EU anti-subsidy tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles. Additionally, recent EU-China agreements may restrict the export of plug-in hybrid and range-extended vehicles. AITO has not yet disclosed pricing, specific launch markets, or distribution partners for Europe.
