Aito is set to begin pre-sales for the updated M8 SUV on September 30. The vehicle features an architecture prepared for Level 3 autonomous driving and comes standard with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 system across all trim levels. The model continues to be a joint project developed by Seres and Huawei within the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance.
The SUV maintains its previous dimensions, measuring 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, with a 3,105 mm wheelbase. It will remain available in 5-seat and 6-seat configurations. The lineup includes both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions to cater to different consumer needs.
The EREV variant utilizes a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with dual motors. The BEV version offers battery capacities of 120.04 kWh and 97.644 kWh, delivering a maximum range of 830 km. The original M8 model launched in April 2025, and cumulative deliveries for the series surpassed 180,000 units as of August 6, 2026.
Recent reports indicate a shift in the partnership structure, with Seres taking an operational lead while maintaining Aito's membership in the alliance. The current version of the M8 starts at ¥359,800. This update follows a previous refresh in March 2026, which primarily introduced new exterior color options to the existing lineup.
