Aito has officially opened pre-sales for the updated M8 SUV in China, with prices starting at ¥389 800. This figure is ¥30 000 higher than the previous model's starting price of ¥359 800. The company invested ¥1,5 billion into the vehicle's development, focusing on exterior design, cabin improvements, smart features, and chassis upgrades.
The updated M8 retains its dimensions of 5 190 mm in length, 1 999 mm in width, and 1 795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3 105 mm. The vehicle now features an 800 V architecture across all variants. The BEV version offers a CLTC range of up to 830 km, while the EREV version provides a combined range of 1 435 km.
Technological enhancements include the integration of Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system and a new omnidirectional sensor fusion system. The chassis now incorporates rear-wheel steering, dual-chamber air suspension, and dual-valve dampers. The cabin has been updated with new color schemes, redesigned screen bezels, and an improved audio system.
This launch coincides with a shift in the partnership between Seres and Huawei. Seres is assuming a greater operational role for the Aito brand, moving beyond its previous manufacturing responsibilities. Despite this change, Aito remains part of the Huawei-led Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, and the M8 continues to be a core model for the brand.
