Aito, a brand under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, has officially denied allegations that its vehicles are pre-manufactured with future dates on VIN plates. The company filed a police report after social media posts circulated images of an Aito M6 VIN plate dated October 2026.

The manufacturer stated that the viral images were manipulated using Photoshop or AI. According to Aito, the original VIN plate belongs to an M6 model produced in July 2026. The company provided evidence showing that the model codes, chassis numbers, and specifications remained identical across both the original and the doctored images.

The Aito M6 is a mid-size luxury SUV currently retailing between ¥229 800 and ¥299 800, or approximately $34 200 to $44 700. The vehicle features the Harmony OS intelligent cabin and the Qiankun assisted-driving system. It measures 4 960 mm in length with a 2 950 mm wheelbase.

The controversy follows a decline in sales for the M6 model. Data indicates that deliveries dropped to 5 428 units in July 2026, compared to a peak of 18 148 units in May 2026. The term pre-made car used in social media posts draws a parallel to recent public criticism regarding pre-made factory meals in China.
