Adyen has appointed Niclas Neglen, currently the CFO of Klarna, as its new finance chief. Neglen is expected to join the company's statutory management board, pending necessary regulatory and shareholder approvals. He will depart from his current role at Klarna in early 2027.

Prior to his tenure at Klarna, Neglen held senior finance positions at HSBC Private Bank, where he served as CFO and COO for the EMEA region. His professional background also includes a 13-year period at General Electric, where he worked in various senior finance capacities.

During the transition period, Hwa Tsao, Adyen’s senior vice president of group finance, will serve as interim CFO. Following the handover, Tsao will return to his previous position within the company. Adyen is currently focusing on expanding its financial infrastructure services for large enterprises.

In the first half of 2026, Adyen processed €803,8 billion in payments, marking a 24% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company's in-person payment volume grew by 28%, reaching €175,7 billion. Growth is driven by multinational clients and new loyalty capabilities.
