Adam Iza, known as The Godfather, received a 78-month prison sentence for orchestrating a $37 million fraud against Meta and hiring off-duty Los Angeles sheriff's deputies to harass his rivals. U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson ordered Iza to pay $23,402,766 in restitution. The defendant pleaded guilty in January 2025 to wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy against rights.

Between 2020 and 2022, Iza accessed Meta business manager accounts and sold access to advertising firms, resulting in unauthorized charges. He admitted to receiving at least $36,360,844 in gross income through 2023, causing an IRS loss of $13,286,152. To conceal these funds, he utilized cryptocurrency custodians and hid his ownership of the trading platform Zort.

Iza previously hired deputies to obtain confidential law enforcement data and intimidate individuals involved in financial disputes. Five former deputies have been convicted for their involvement in these activities, receiving sentences ranging from one year to 63 months. One former officer, Eric Chase Saavedra, was sentenced to 21 months for establishing the security company that provided the deputies.

The 78-month sentence will run concurrently with a 15-year term Iza is currently serving for an attempted Bitcoin robbery. His former associate, Iris Rabaya Au, was sentenced to 18 months for failing to report over $2.6 million in income. She was also ordered to pay $1,484,343 in restitution and forfeit luxury assets, including high-performance vehicles and designer goods.
