Aave Labs has integrated its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with the MetaMask Agent Wallet. This connection allows AI agents to interact directly with Aave lending infrastructure, including reading protocol data, simulating actions, and preparing transactions.

The Aave MCP server, launched on September 8, 2026, provides a unified interface for developers. It supports Aave V3, which operates across 21 chains, and Aave V4, which is currently available on Ethereum and Avalanche.

The system includes approximately 40 tools designed to streamline the development of agentic finance products. By using this server, developers can avoid building custom integrations for different chains and protocol versions.

The setup is non-custodial, meaning the MCP server only prepares unsigned transactions. Users maintain control over their private keys and can set spending limits and security protocols through the MetaMask Agent Wallet, which launched on August 6, 2026.

As of September 2026, total deposits on Aave V4 have exceeded $1 billion. Early use cases for the integration include automated position monitoring and liquidation protection for borrowers.
