Aave Labs has introduced a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, providing a standardized endpoint for AI applications to access real-time data from Aave V3 and V4 protocols. The server is available at mcp.aave.com and replaces the need for developers to use static datasets or third-party wrappers.
The infrastructure connects to Aave V3 deployments across 21 different blockchains and supports Aave V4 on Ethereum and Avalanche. This integration allows AI agents to interact with the vast majority of the capital deployed within the Aave ecosystem.
The MCP server provides approximately 40 tools for AI agents, including capabilities for market data retrieval, checking wallet positions, and examining health factors to monitor liquidation risks. It also enables the simulation of potential actions before capital is committed.
To ensure security, the server uses a non-custodial architecture. It can prepare unsigned transactions, but it does not hold private keys or sign transactions on behalf of users. Final execution requires approval from a human or a dedicated signing module.
