Honda has unveiled the 2027 Civic Type R for the US market, featuring a redesigned front bumper with a larger grille and splitter to improve front-end downforce. The vehicle retains its 2.0-liter turbocharged K20C engine, delivering 319 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Engineers have revised the suspension settings, specifically focusing on the +R mode to enhance ride comfort over uneven surfaces. The braking system now includes a new spring mechanism to reduce pedal travel and improve feedback. Additionally, the automatic rev-matching system has been recalibrated for faster response times and smoother gear shifts during downshifts.

Interior and technology updates include standard three-stage heated sport seats and a multimedia system with integrated Google services and Amazon Alexa. The cabin now features two USB-C ports on the center console, and the lane-keeping assist system has been updated. The exterior color palette now offers a new Meteorite Gray Metallic option.

The 2027 Honda Civic Type R is priced at $49 990, including destination charges. This represents a price increase of $1 300 compared to the 2026 model year, which was priced at $48 690. The vehicle maintains its performance benchmark, accelerating to 97 km/h in approximately five seconds.
