The global market for foldable smartphones has reached a plateau with approximately 20 million units sold annually. While sales in Russia are growing, the broader market remains saturated, with most devices priced between $1500 and $2000.

Apple has entered the foldable segment with the iPhone Duo. Despite a starting price of $2000, analysts project it could capture up to 24.8% of the market, though production capacity remains a significant uncertainty.

Triple-fold devices remain a niche category. Huawei has introduced the Mate XT2, featuring a new folding mechanism, an additional external screen, and IP58/IP59 protection. Meanwhile, Samsung has ceased production of the Galaxy Z TriFold three months after its launch.

Wide-format foldables are emerging as a new standard. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 features a titanium substrate to minimize screen creases and costs 150 000 ₽. Huawei’s Pura X Max and the Xiaomi 18 Fold also compete in this category, with the latter featuring a 6000 mAh battery and a proprietary XRing O3 platform.

Traditional foldable designs continue to evolve. The HONOR Magic V6 is marketed as the world's thinnest foldable at 4.0–4.1 mm, equipped with a 6660 mAh battery and IP68/IP69 protection. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra remains a key competitor, noted for being the lightest in its class.
