The auction house Mecum is set to sell a 1997 Lincoln Town Car Miyagata hearse next month, in November 2026. This specialized vehicle, originally designed for the Japanese funeral market, features intricate gold-colored decorations and a prominent dragon sculpture mounted on its roof.

The vehicle spent most of its service life in Japan before being imported to the United States in late 2024. Its design incorporates traditional Japanese motifs, with gold trim extending along the sides of the car and covering the doors that provide access to the casket compartment.

The odometer shows a low mileage of 19,717 miles. The interior remains in good condition, with the original black front seats showing only minor signs of wear. Under the hood, the car is equipped with a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine.

The powertrain delivers a maximum output of 190 horsepower and 359 Newton-meters of peak torque. This auction offers a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of automotive history that blends American chassis engineering with distinct Japanese funeral customs.
